Our History

350 Mass Action was founded in 2016 when we launched the Clean Money for Climate Pledge, and recruited 75 candidates for the State Legislature, including 40 elected or re-elected to the State House, to pledge not to take money from fossil fuel companies or utilities. This included candidates and legislators from Republican, Democratic, and independent parties.

In 2017, we endorsed three candidates for local office, including the successful Cambridge City Councilor Quinton Zondervan and Marlborough City Councilor Dave Doucette. We also joined with allies in Mass Power Forward on the #StandUpCharlie campaign, and helped organize and support two sit-ins of the Governor's office to encourage Governor Baker to stop all new fossil fuel infrastructure in the Commonwealth.

In 2018, we are working on advancing the national No Fossil Fuel Money pledge with Massachusetts candidates, which our 2016 initiative helped inspire, as well as continuing to pressure Governor Baker to drop his support for new fossil fuels. Finally, we are working on making an endorsement in the gubernatorial election as well.
