350 Mass Action is made up of regional chapters and coordinated by the Statewide Political Team (SPT), consisting of representatives from the chapters. We have a dual voting process to decide on endorsements for candidates in each election cycle.
Questionnaires - every candidate in the races in which we are considering an endorsement are asked to fill out a questionnaire. The questionnaire asks them to take a stand on our policy priorities including funding and improving Mass Save; opposing new gas infrastructure and supporting Make Polluters Pay; and to explain their goals and experience around climate issues.
Chapter vote - the chapters can discuss and vote to endorse candidates in their district, these endorsements are then discussed and confirmed by a vote from the SPT (or vice versa).
SPT vote - the SPT discusses and votes on candidates that have been brought forward by the chapters to be considered for endorsement. The SPT can also recommend endorsing candidates to have the relevant chapters confirm the endorsement. Endorsements are decided by a majority vote from the SPT members.
350 Mass Action officially endorses a candidate once the SPT and relevant chapters have discussed and voted on the endorsement.
Reach out to Alan at [email protected] about endorsements.
